It seems like a perfect opportunity to announce that, for the first time ever, DBH is stocking a selection of clothing and cold weather gear.

We have been careful to bring in only the most useful (and . . . → Read More: It’s time for cold weather prep :-(]]> Well, December has arrived in full force, slapping us in the face with negative temperatures on day-one.

It seems like a perfect opportunity to announce that, for the first time ever, DBH is stocking a selection of clothing and cold weather gear.

We have been careful to bring in only the most useful (and best looking) stuff we could find.

Starting on Saturday and continuing for next week, we’ll pay the tax on all clothing, too.

Here’s a quick rundown:

Seirus masks, hats and clavas

Before DBH existed, I bought a Seirus Masque on a whim and it was the best winter biking purchase I have ever made. The fleece lined neoprene keeps your chin and cheeks toasty, and the nose and mouth vents prevent almost all condensation buildup. These work so much better than  scarves, I can’t recommend them highly enough. Masques start at about 20 bucks and we also have a selection of great looking hats with built-in clavas as well as thin thermal headliners to keep you warm underneath your helmet.

Sombrio

Sombrio makes fantastic casual sports wear, much of which is created with cyclists in mind. Soimbrio’s entire line makes technical wear look good. These are clothes that you can wear both on and off your bike without looking like a huge dweeb. We aren’t talking neon spandex here – this is functional clothing that looks really great.

We are very excited to be bringing Sombrio in – this season we have just a sampling of their gear: quantities are limited, so drop in early for the best selection. Next season we will be bringing in even more Sombrio!

EVO Gloves

We’ve chosen a few thin, non bulky gloves perfect for cold weather riding. All of these gloves will easily allow the dexterity to operate your brakes and gears. Some have an additional feature of a retractable wind/rain guard (converts from glove to mitt). When the weather gets really nasty, these will be perfect as liners inside your bulkier winter gloves or mitts.

Linus Gaston (5 speed)

Finally an internally geared bike without the twist shifter. This gutsy 5 speed shifts from the down tube and with its wrapped leather bar tape and matching leather saddle it’s a very snappy dresser indeed. The Chromoly frame and fork have all the necessary eyelets to mount racks and fenders.

We have one Batavus Breukelen (56cm) – an amazing true dutch city bike. Regular price was $1250 but we are sacrificing our last one for $899. This is an unbeatable price for an aluminum 7 speed internally geared Dutch bike with a generator hub lighting system! Sold!

We also have a few one step through and one mens Batavus BUB left – and we won’t get any more since we are investigating bringing Gazelle instead of Batavus for next season (not due to bike problems but due to supply problems). The original price on these was $650 – we have been selling them at $600 this season but will blow them out for $499.
